Example response to the consultation

The consultation for setting up a Windsor Town Council is finally drawing to a close and we urge residents and business owners to add to the existing 2,020 signatures to the original petition calling for a Windsor Town Council and the overwhelmingly positive responses to the first stage of the consultation back in October, we now need your support in the final consultation which closes on the 2nd June with a very simple message YES, YES, YES to the three questions posed.  

YES! The current borough wide arrangements do not allow for specific targeted issues, for example supporting the reintroduction of the planters which have disappeared form Dedworth, or the revitalising of parks and open spaces across the whole town.   

YES! Electing local town councillors based in Windsor neighbourhoods can influence decisions which cabinet members from Maidenhead or further afield make whilst deciding Windsor’s priorities. Local Windsor town councillors are better able to represent and serve Windsor residents, supporting the Royal Borough in its activities. For example, the redevelopment plans at Sawyers Close and the coach park would be much more successfully supported through local representation and involvement from the outset by those who care about their local community.

YES! The creation of a Windsor Town Council brings us in line with other parishes in RBWM, giving greater support for local Windsor services, such as our libraries, allotments and parks supporting RBWM in delivering its services to where it will have the greatest impact.
